Set High-Quality video format
By default, the Nimbb Player records video in 320x240 pixels format. This resolution has the advantages to be compatible with all versions of Adobe Flash (9.0.28 and up) and works with most webcam and bandwidth restrictions.
However, it's possible to record in higher resolutions (High-Quality) by using the Nimbb Player 2. This version of the player requires Adobe Flash 11.1.0 and up. It also supports HD webcams and widescreen resolutions. Videos are recorded in MP4 files. Using this version, you can create nice detailed videos. Here are the supported formats:
320x240m (MP4 encoding)
In this example, we show how to enable a recording resolution of 640x480 pixels. Try recording a video below.
This example requires you to specify your developer key (see tutorial).
A Silver or higher subscription is required.
Record your video in High-Quality (640x480):
<object id="nimbb" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="640" height="480" codebase=
<param name="movie" value="http://player.nimbb.com/nimbb2.swf?mode=record&format=640x480&key=XXXXXXXXXX&simplepage=1&lang=en" />
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
<embed name="nimbb" src="http://player.nimbb.com/nimbb2.swf?mode=record&format=640x480&key=XXXXXXXXXX&simplepage=1&lang=en" width="640" height="480" allowScriptAccess="always" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
In the code, notice that we are using the Nimbb Player 2 by referring to the Nimbb2.swf file (instead of Nimbb.swf). The Nimbb Player 2 offers High-Quality (HQ) recording formats.
To specify the recording resolution, we use the "format" parameter and set it to "640x480". To see a list of possible values, see the Parameters page.
To make sure that the player fits our recording resolution, we also modified its width and height values to fit the recording format.
Finally, after recording a HQ video, you can use both Nimbb Player 1 (Nimbb.swf) or Nimbb Player 2 (Nimbb2.swf) for playback using regular technique (see this tutorial).
