Embedding the Nimbb Player 2

We currently offer two versions of our Nimbb Player: version 1 and version 2. The main difference between the two versions is how they record and encode videos. The Nimbb Player 1 (NP1) records videos using Sorenson H.263, which results in FLV video file format. The Nimbb Player 2 (NP2) records videos using H.264, which results in MP4 video file format.

Another difference is that NP1 requires Adobe Flash 9.0.28 or higher, whereas NP2 requires Adobe Flash 11.1.0 or higher. Note that both players can playback videos recorded by each other.

Using NP2 might help reduce the bandwidth needed to record videos if you are having some issues. In this example, we show you how to embed the Nimbb Player 2. Try recording a video here using the NP2.

This example requires you to specify your developer key (see tutorial).

Record a video with the Nimbb Player 2:

HTML code

Record a video with the Nimbb Player 2:

<object id="nimbb" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="320" height="240" codebase= "http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/swflash.cab">
<param name="movie" value="http://player.nimbb.com/nimbb2.swf?mode=record&key=XXXXXXXXXX&simplepage=1&lang=en" />
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
<embed name="nimbb" src="http://player.nimbb.com/nimbb2.swf?mode=record&key=XXXXXXXXXX&simplepage=1&lang=en" width="320" height="240" allowScriptAccess="always" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">

When comparing with embedding the Nimbb Player 1, you can see that the code is very similar. The difference is that you are referencing the file Nimbb2.swf instead of Nimbb.swf.

Take note that by default, the recording resolution is the same for both player, which is "320x240". To see a list of possible values of the format parameter accepted by the NP2, see the Parameters page.
